Finally a game to write about. While I do appreciate the team appreciates the time off, I always look forward to the next game.

UConn is taking on in reality, the only conference opponent that ever gave UConn any trouble through the years. I'm using a pretty lame criteria, but I think it's just shows how weak the AAC has been. I bolded the games where the final margin was 20 points or less. Starting with an overtime game in the second time the two teams ever met, USF had what I'm calling "competitive" games in nine out of 29 outings. I bet the rest of the entire conference combined has less than that.

USF | UCONN LEADS 29-0

03/07/16 #1 UConn 77, #20 USF 51 Uncasville, Fla.
01/10/17 #1 UConn 102, #20 USF 37 Hartford, Conn.
02/27/17 UConn 96, USF 68 Tampa, Fla.
03/06/17 UConn 100, USF 44 Uncasville, Fla.
01/06/18 #1 UConn 100, USF 49 Tampa, Fla.
02/26/18 #1 UConn 82, #20 USF 53 Storrs, Conn.
03/06/18 #1 UConn 70, #19 USF 54 Uncasville, Conn.
01/13/19 #3 UConn 63, USF 46 Storrs, Conn.
03/04/19 #2 UConn 57, USF 47 Tampa, Fla.
03/10/19 #2 UConn 81, USF 45 Uncasville, Conn.

This is not a great version of the Lady Bull team. They are only 15-9 on the season and are back in their usual position in the AAC, second to UConn at 7-3.

The first thing I noticed when looking at South Florida's stats is something I believe I have never seen.

Eleven, yes, eleven different players have started at least 3 games. This makes knowing who is going to start pretty much impossible.

I can tell you that South Florida likes to spread out their shots. No one really dominates their offense.

5'7" freshman guard Elena Tsineke from Greece is the leading scorer at 12.6 points per game but takes a lot of shots to get there. She is only shooting 40.1% from the field and 32% on threes.

Running the team is 5'8" Sophomore point guard Elisa Pizan from Italy. She averages around 10 points per game and a little over 4 assists per game as well. She can't be left open from deep as she is shooting a solid 38.5 percent on threes.

Junior forward, 6' Bethy Mununga from Belgium does a great job on the boards as an undersized post. Lots of determination and desire is behind her grabbing 9.9 rebounds per game.

The other two starters in their last game were 5'10" sophomore guard Sydni Harvey from Nashville and Shae  Leverett a 6'2" center from Ricon, Georgia.

Off the bench is a player that I thought would be a really good Division I player, but it looks to me that she has neve fulfilled her promise. That would be Senior Tamara Henshaw a lefty post player.  I remember her as a freshman against the Huskies and she really looked like a star in the making.

Overall, USF shoots only 39.7% from the field and 33.4% on threes. Not very good numbers. The other number that sticks out for me is the 17 turnovers per game. That will allow UConn to get their running game going.

I have a feeling that this is more like the 2/3 of the games these two teams have had. That means a UConn blowout.

The Huskies by 35+
