I don't know if you have heard of Richard Kent, but he is the author of a wonderful book,

"Lady Vols and UConn: The Greatest Rivalry" published in 2008. He was at the Yale/Princeton game and met Phil (Philosophy) there and asked for a link to my blog. I'm so flattered.

If you have a chance, send away for this book. You will really enjoy it. Here is the LINK.

Here are the post game interviews after the Tulane game. The Geno interview is one of his best.

Here is a video of a great point guard that will be a freshman for UConn in the 2020 season.

No, it's not Paige Bueckers. It's the Croation Comet (I just made that up) Nika Muhl. After seeing these highlights, I'm so excited to see her play for the Huskies next season.

ENJOY!!!

She is No. 4 in one league and No. 10 in the other league

Image result for I win when you lose

Two of my favorite teams to lose did just that Thursday night.

Now unranked Tennessee will continue to drop in the polls after losing to No. 22 Arkansas 83-75. So, how do you drop in the polls when you are not in the Top 25 and unranked? Well, Tennessee actually had 5 votes in the AP poll and 1 vote in the Coaches poll. Not enough to be ranked, but I have a feeling you won't see them at all, even in the "others receiving votes" section. So sad.

This was the FIFTH consecutive loss for the Lady Vols and six of their last eight games. At 17-9, they face a Vanderbilt team that they already beat on the road and then the worst team in the SEC Ole Miss. It's doubtful that even this Tennessee team could blow those games. Can they???

I guess it's not news when Notre Dame loses. It's not even news when they lose at home. Isn't that just crazy. I watched some of the game (Thanks Bulkey) and Notre Dame made a serious rally to get it as close at seven points, but lost 68-62 to Virginia Tech.

This loss dropped the Irish to 10-17 and 5-10 in the conference. This is their eleventh home loss. The drop to this level by Notre Dame is just stunning. Poor Muffet. Coudn't happen to a more miserable person.

Image result for leaving early

Oregon Junior, Satou Sabally is leaving the Ducks early for the WNBA. She will join Seniors Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard in the Top Five of the WNBA draft in April. A very UConn-esque draft order from one team.

Will Oregon have a Notre Dame like fall after this season? Doubtful. The Irish had players transfer and get injured as well. So Oregon, with a terrific incoming freshman class, will still be a top ten team.

I'd be a little concerned if I was a UConn or Tennessee fan. They have two terrific juniors who are eligible for the draft as well in Megan Walker and Rennia Davis. But with only losing Dangerfield and having a great class coming in, I don't believe Walker has any intention of leaving UConn. However, with the shit show that is Tennessee I wouldn't be surprised if Davis declared after this season.

Sabally to leave after her junior season for the WNBA

Image result for stats don't lie

By David in Naples!!!!

For goodness sake, please make a free throw..!!  UConn thumped Tulane in just about every statistical category last night, except one. That was Free Throws. For the game, UConn went 4-13 for a pathetic 30.7% rate. For the year, the Huskies now stand at a combined 224-337 or 66.5%. Put another way, for every 100 free throws, UConn is missing 33.5%. They miss 1/3 of every free throw try..!!

So here is the last seven years of UConn free throw stats:

2019-20    66.5%
2018-19    73.4%
2017-18    76.9%
2016-17    77.9%
2015-16    80.0%
2014-15    72.6%
2013-14    75.0%

Starting in 2015, there has been a steady decline in made free throws. This is something that can be corrected. Crystal Danger field shot 59.3% from the charity stripe as a freshman. This year she is shooting 85.4% on free throws. Practice, practice, practice. Maybe she can tutor UConn's two worst free throw players, Olivia and Aubrey. Those two current make 51.4% and 53.1% of their charity stripe tries. That is really bad...

Go Huskies..!!
