I love when I can start off a blog with a UConn commitment  No, it's not Azzi Fudd. That will happen eventually!!

This time it's UConn's first verbal from the class of 2022. I know, crazy it's so early!!!

Welcome Isuneh "Ice" Brady a 6'4" forward from San Diego California! Yes, another Californian player. We do ok with those!!

From ESPN's Dan Olson, who has her as the No. 3 player in the 2022 class  - "Strong, physical, versatile power-post with interior game delivery complemented by emerging face up game; pounds the glass, finishes plays in traffic; workhorse in the block, mobile in transition game; an elite front court performer in the 2022 class."

Cathedral Catholic High coach Jackie Turpin - "There aren't enough superlatives to describe her. She is an extremely high character kid and an ultimate competitor. She is well versed on the college basketball landscape and UConn is the perfect place for her to continue her growth as a player. She wants to be great and UConn and Geno's staff is the perfect fit"

He added - “She plays back-to-the-basket, but she’s growing her game by the time she gets to [UConn]. She’s got a great jumper, gonna be a 3-point threat, she can handle the ball some. She gets the rebound for us at our level and she’s pushing the break. Defensively, moves her feet really well. The ball that we play we’re switching everything, so she’s guarding post players and guards. The biggest compliment I can say is she’s competitive. She just goes hard all the time.”

Here are a few videos. I love left handed players!

This first one is from middle school. Really! She is No. 25 in white. They say she has a college ready body already. It sure looks like it.

Here is an interview from her freshman season. Very mature!

Geno has now recruited big post players in four out of five classes.

2018 - 6'5" Nelson-Ododa
2020 - 6'5" Piath Gabriel
2021 - 6'5" Amari DeBerry
2022 - 6'4" Isuneh Brady

I guess Geno heard all the whining from the message boards about not having any bigs...lol.

Wednesday night is a big game for No. 23 Tennessee. They come into this game at 8-1 and will face its toughest test of the season in No. 1 Stanford in Maples Pavilion.

The game is scheduled for 7:06 p.m. PT (10:06 p.m. ET) and being broadcast on the PAC12 Network.

This is a really big test for the Lady Vols. The only "decent" team they played was Texas and that did not go very well. Stanford is on an entirely different level. It would be more than a mild upset of Tennessee could pull this off.

After watching Stanford dismantle a decent Ohio State team, I can see where Tennessee could have big problems in Maples. the Cardinal defense is terrific and I believe they have enough size to negate the advantage the Lady Vols usually have.

Stanford really has the advantage at guard with Lexi Hull, Kiana Wiliams and the two freshmen No. 1 recruit Haley Jones and Hanna Jump.

Interestingly enough, Tennessee has the No. 2 recruit in Jordan Horston. Both Horston and Jones are big guards with a multitude of skills. Hmm....maybe a little stat comparison is in orders?

Horston - 23.3 MPG, 39.7% FG, 36.4% 3PT, 45 assists/40 turnovers, 6.2 RPG, 8.6 PPG
Jones -     24.7 MPG, 54.3% FG, 28,6% 3PT, 23 assists/27 turnovers, 4.0 RPG, 10.8 PPG

Not bad for freshmen. Horston needs a big game for Tennessee to have a chance. Can she handle the Stanford defense?

Who am I rooting for? Well, if Tennessee wins UConn could be No. 1 if they beat Oklahoma on Sunday. That would be cool, just because it will annoy so many fans of other teams. On the other hand, it's friggin' Tennessee. I just can't root for them!!!

Prediction? 72-62 Stanford wins.

By David in Naples!!!!!

Judging from the critics reaction to the DePaul victory last night, UConn might have lost and we just don't know it. "DePaul had heart and the Huskies didn't" they cry. They couldn't be more wrong. DePaul was ranked #16 in the country and playing at home, where they were undefeated. They are a very, very good three point shooting team. "Yes, but UConn blew a 26 point lead" the critics yell. No they didn't. They won the game. They didn't blow anything. In fact, they showed great heart in winning by 10 points.

With 4 minutes left in the game, UConn had a 6 point lead and DePaul had the ball. UConn held DePaul 0-6 and gave up only 2 points on free throws for the rest of the game. Here are the highlights:

1. DePaul missed shot, UConn rebound.
2. Crystal makes a basket. (clutch)
3. DePaul turnover, Christyn steal.
4. Christyn makes a basket. (clutch)
5. DePaul misses shot, Olivia blocked it.
6. DePaul missed shot, Christyn rebound.
7. DePaul missed a shot, Christyn rebound again.
8. Anna makes a great play to block a break away lay-up.
9. DePaul gets 2 free throws, their only points.
10. Liv makes a lay-up & Crystal gets a steal.

End of the game, crunch time, who came up big? UConn, not DePaul. That is the definition of heart and guts.

Go Huskies..!!
