Here are my basketball credentials...!!!
1970-71 in the Greater Hartford Synagogue Basketball League
Third game down on the left. I had a tidy 13 points. Even hit a free throw!
It was a UConn like 40 point win!!
I'm upper left next to the coach.

Six points in the game against the league all-stars. We were so good we beat them too!!
I only had 6 points in this one.
I'm upper left next to the coach.

The next game is Thursday against conference mate Wichita State. The Shockers are having a decent season, going 7-5 in their first 12 games. Their big win was an 88-83 win over Oklahoma. I suppose you could use that to say that the Huskies should win this one by 40+ points. It usually doesn't work that way. Match ups and styles tend to control margin of victory. I'll probably have a more complete game report sometime next week.

Inspired by David, ole Doggy has some of his own stats for you!!
The season is not ten games old. UConn has 19 more regular season games. If things go well, they will have three AAC tournament games and six NCAA tournament games. That's a total of 38 games.
We have a long way to go to get to that point, but it's always fun to project how individuals will do once the season is over.
Let's look at a few stats that just stand out.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa is on pace for 167 blocks, a 4.4 average. That would break the single season block record of Kiah Stokes in 2014-15 of 147.
Megan Walker is on pace for 821 points. That would be just below Maya Moore's 868 in 2010-11 for second in UConn history. Her 21.6 average would be third behind Moore in that season with 22.8 and Kerry Bascom in 1988-89 with 22.6.
Megan also has a nice season going in three point shooting percentage. Her 46.8% would be 8th on the all time list. And she is on pace for 103 three point field goals made. That would be 5th best in UConn history.
Megan is also on pace for 373 rebounds, which would put her second on the all-time list behind Colliers's 411 from must last season.
Not to be outdone, Olivia joins the rebounding list at No. 5 as she is on pace for 357.
Together, if they keep up this pace, Megan and Olivia are on pace for 730, making them the highest rebounding duo in one season in UConn history, outpacing Maya Moore and Tina Charles in 2008-09. They had 348 each for 696.
Until I looked at the stats, I had no idea that Walker and Nelson-Ododa were on pace for a how historical season. And they haven't even hit the really weak AAC schedule where UConn usually builds up significant statistics.
Should be fun to continue to monitor. I'll try to remember to follow up at the 20 game mark. That would take them through 8 AAC games and the Baylor and Tennessee games. The 20th game is against an umproved Cincinnati game,

By David in Naples!!!!!
Last season, Napheesa Collier averaged 20.8 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. She finished her senior year by being named All-American, getting drafted into the WNBA and winning Rookie of the Year. Through the first 10 games of her senior year, Pheesa was averaging 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. The Current UConn squad has a player with similar statistics.
Megan Walker is currently averaging 21.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Slightly better on points, a bit lower on rebounds. Thru 10 games Collier totaled 36 assists and 79 baskets. Walker currently has 34 assists and 84 baskets. Certainly matching Collier's All-American effort. Unlike Pheesa, Megan has extended range out to the 3 pt arc. Her 22-47 or 47% rate on threes is quite a bit better than Collier's 28%.
One final difference, Megan is a junior and still has 1 2/3 seasons to play. Should be fun..!!
