Just a couple of videos with UConn Recruits

2021 Saylor Poffenbarger - No. 4 in white

How do you not like her range on the three point shot!!

And a new video about Aaliyah Edwards, 2020

And finally, what I hope will be a UConn commit soon enough.

Class of 2021 No. 1 recruit Azzi Fudd, besties with 2020 No. 1 recruit and UConn commit Paige Beuckers shooting threes as she comes back from an ACL injury that ended her season last year.

She made 268 threes in 18 minutes. Amazing. Link

Thursday night, No. 6 Louisville, the team that knocked Oregon out of the No. 1 spot in a big upset was almost a victim of a really big upset.

UT Martin, Pat Summit's Alma mater, took the Cardinals to double overtime before losing 70-63.

The score was 49-49 at the end of regulation. Not exactly an offensive explosion. The Skyhawks had a terrible shooting night, and it was the foul line that did them in. They were only 15-28 on free throws. And the timing of the misses couldn't have been worse. With 30 seconds left, they were up one with two foul shots. They missed both allowing Louisville to end up tying the game with one of their own free throws. They were also only 2-16 on threes.

Louisville has a lot of soul searching to do after this game, the loss to unranked Ohio State and the one point win against No. 14 Kentucky.

My question is, how the hell did they beat Oregon??

From Phil

The case for Princeton (the Rodney Dangerfield special)

Princeton is now 10-1, with the lone loss being an overtime loss to Iowa. Yet, they didn't garner a single vote in the AP poll. (Admittedly, they were merely 9–1 when that poll took place.)

Now, I understand that a team can have a single loss, and not deserve a ranking. Take North Carolina, for example. they are 8–1, but the strength of schedule is ranked 182 (all rankings based on Massey). Their "signature" victory, the only win over a team without a triple digit ranking, is a win against number 77 Temple. It's understandable they aren't ranked.

Take Tennessee, for example. When they were 8-1, they had an atrocious SOS, in the 200s I believe, and didn't remotely deserve a ranking. Whoops, they were ranked, but that doesn't change the argument. The didn't remotely deserve a ranking. Their "signature" when was over number 47 Notre Dame, and maybe the voters forgot what year it is.

So if Princeton has a nice won-loss ratio but did so against no opposition, they don't deserve a ranking. But let's check out their strength of schedule. It's currently ranked number 49. Let's see if there's anyone with a weaker strength of schedule:
Florida State SOS 66
UCLA SOS 105
NC State 81
Kentucky 90
Arizona 213
South Dakota 59
Minnesota 50
TCU 84
Arizona State 94
Colorado 199
Rutgers 102

The first six of those teams are ranked in the top 25, while the next five are ranked in some ballots, but every single one of them has a worse strength of schedule. Admittedly, some of them do not yet have a loss, and that may partially make up for a weak schedule.

I think the issue is that Princeton hasn't played too many P5 teams, and writers are less apt to take team seriously outside the P5. I hope they take note of the fact that the last two games by Princeton were against P5 teams, Penn State and Missouri. Admittedly, neither of those two teams are at the top of their respective conferences. I hope some of the AP writers watched the Princeton-Missouri game, which Princeton won 68 – 33, and if you watch the game, you'd realize it wasn't that close.

I think Princeton deserves to be in the top 25 next week. Massey has them as number 20. Every one of the teams ranked ahead of Princeton in the Massey rankings and several behind them are in the AP top 25.

Image result for stats don't lie
By David in Naples!!!!!

UConn fans are used to a very accurate shooting performance from the Huskies. So far this season, the overall shot % is down slightly from the past 5 years. Consider:

2019-20    48.0%
2018-19    49.1%
2017-18    53.3%
2016-17    52.7%
2015-16    53.0%
2014-15    54.0%

In defense of this year's team, the weak AAC schedule is still coming up and shooting accuracy should improve. Good time to start would be Sunday versus Oklahoma.

And......

Baylor recently left a player in a game they were winning by 70 points to set a new 3 point record. She took 23 three-point shots in order to make 14 and set the record. Her last make was with 2 minutes to go in the game. That is sad and pathetic. For the record, last season, the most three-point shots by a UConn player was 12 by Katie Lou Samuelson. The year she made 10 straight threes against USF, Geno never left her on the court with instructions to keep shooting threes. Baylor has no class.
Go Huskies..!!
