GO HUSKIES!!!!!

I made a few changes with the NCAA tournament coming up. Hope you like them. Still have my opinion pieces and UConn links. I added links to anything going on in WCBB. I added the scores from all the conference tournaments and any I'll point out any automatic bid winners.

Once the NCAA tournament starts, I'll have the brackets listed and scored posted as they happen. So any time you check the blog, you will see updates.

Hope this all works out...it's all new to me!!!!

Thanks for reading!

FUN WITH NUMBERS!!
AUTHORED BY DAVID IN NAPLES

Gabby Williams has been the most pleasant surprise in UConn’s season so far. Her statistics are remarkable considering she played just 531 minutes during the regular season & AAC tournament. Coming off two knee surgeries and a change of position from guard to power forward, her contributions exceed those of players with many more minutes. Consider:

1.     Gabby has 125 made baskets, more than Kia Nurse who played 281 more minutes.
2.     Her 195 total rebounds exceeds Morgan Tuck, who was on the court for 263 extra minutes.
3.     Williams has 13 blocked shots, more than Tuck and Nurse combined, despite being the shortest of the three.
4.     At 70 offensive rebounds, Gabby leads the team and exceeds Stewie, who saw 376 more minutes of action.
5.     With 43 steals, Williams exceeded the combined total of Kia Stokes and Saniya Chong.
6.     Her 285 points passes Chong who played 130 more minutes.
7.     Gabby draws contact near the basket. Her 78 free throw attempts is 3 times KML’s 26 trips to the line.
8.     As a former guard, Williams was able to dole out 45 assists, more than Stokes despite almost 100 fewer minutes.
9.     Gabby shot 64.4% from the field and led the team in accuracy. She was the only player above 60% in that category.

Williams’ production was, in a word, GABBULOUS..!!

More tickets punched to the dance!

Florida Gulf Coast University won Wednesday to clinch the automatic berth in the NCAA tournament for the Atlantic Sun Conference. They play Northern Kentucky in the conference finals Sunday. Northern Kentucky is in the third year of the four year reclassification to Division I and are not eligible for the NCAA tournament until the four year period is over Northern Kentucky upset Stetson 53-52.

It's Mid-Major time for the rest of the week as the Power-5 Conferences plus the Big East and American conferences have completed their tournaments. Several NCAA tourney berths are in play and you get some really intense games as teams know it's their only shot to get to the tourney. I'll post the results here. Some games are late so I'll add them as I see them after my initial posting.
