GO HUSKIES!!!!! |
I made a few changes with the NCAA tournament coming up. Hope you like them. Still have my opinion pieces and UConn links. I added links to anything going on in WCBB. I added the scores from all the conference tournaments and any I'll point out any automatic bid winners.
Once the NCAA tournament starts, I'll have the brackets listed and scored posted as they happen. So any time you check the blog, you will see updates.
Hope this all works out...it's all new to me!!!!

As much pleasure I get from watching the UConn women dismantle teams, this latest run in the conference tournament by the UConn men's team has been a ton of fun.
After hammering South Florida in the first round on Thursday, they beat Cincinnati Friday on a 3 point buzzer beater by Ryan Boatright to get into the semi-finals. Saturday, they were down to Tulsa 38-28 with 6 minutes remaining. Once again, led by their terrific defense, they outscored Tulsa 19-4 to win 47-42. Back to back three pointers by the freshman Daniel Hamilton and Boatright tied the game at 41. After a free throw by Tulsa, a Rodney Purvis jumper put UConn ahead by one with 49 second remaining. Boatright closed out the scoring by going 4-4 on free throws. Sunday, the Huskies play top seed No. 20 SMU for the chance to grab the automatic bid for the AAC. They beat SMU 80-73 the last time these two teams met on March 1st. Would anyone count out UConn at this point?

It's Mid-Major time for the rest of the week as the Power-5 Conferences plus the Big East and American conferences have completed their tournaments. Several NCAA tourney berths are in play and you get some really intense games as teams know it's their only shot to get to the tourney. I'll post the results here. Some games are late so I'll add them as I see them after my initial posting.
