Great start for the AAC with East Carolina's 1st round NIT win over Radford from the Big South conference. The final was 74-52. East Carolina was led by Jada Payne's 22 points. Payne was 8-15 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc.

They had a UConn-like 19 assists on 26 baskets. ECU plays the winner of the East Tennessee State/NC State game.
