It's gonna be brief for this blog as I'm going crazy getting ready for the long drive to DelRay Florida. Taking our time and doing it in three days.

We are leaving Sunday morning and with two sleep overs we will arrive around 5:00 on Tuesday.

I will be taking the laptop with me and as long as there is WIFI there will be a Doggy's Doghouse.

In preparation for the Florida sun, I decided to shave!!!

The wife says I look younger!!

And Logan came by to watch today's game and eat some popcorn!!

It wasn't difficult but I think I hit this game right on the nose.

"Houston has the trifecta when it comes to their offensive play. They can't shoot from deep, they can't shoot from the paint, and they can't make foul shots. They also don't do a good job passing the ball.

This should be an easy win for the Huskies. But you never know hot much of a hangover UConn will have after the Baylor game. I'm guess not much. UConn by 40+ and all is good in the world."

So, let's see.

They shot 25% on threes. Check.
They shot 36% from the field. Check.
They shot 25% from the FT line. Check.
They had 22 turnovers and only 11 assists. Check.

UConn won by 40 points. CHECK!!!!!!!!

OK, enough about me. UConn played well today. Not great, but well. They really shared the ball early and were aggressive from the opening tip.

David said it all about Christyn Williams. She is starting to play the way we all expected after a really good freshman season.

Megan Walker led the team with 22 points and shot well from the floor.

It was a good bounce back game for Olivia Nelson-Ododa. I will admit I look at her in a different light after that poor performance against Baylor. She was more aggressive in this game but she wasn't going against that big a lineup. She will have to do it in a game that matters to get me back on board the ONO train.

So much to say but not enough tine to say it. I will just add -

Anna Makurat got the message. Shoot!!! She took 9 threes and only made three but she needs to keep shooting.

Evelyn Adebayo had what I thought was her best minutes of the season. She did get 11 of them and had three rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. And countless screens.

I'm going to miss Molly Bent next year.

Image result for PAC12

I have to say, I'm a big fan of the PAC12 conference. The two Oregon teams are terrific, Stanford is a great team as well, and the two Arizona's are super competative,

Sunday has a couple of interesting games. Friday night Unranked Arizona State beat No. 2 Oregon and No. 18 Arizona was a whisker away from beating No. 3 Oregon State. On Sunday, the matchups are flipped and while unlikey we could see 1 or 2 more upsets. I'd love to see Oregon State lose to see what the AP voters do. More on that Sunday night after these games are in the books.

Image result for the future

Hard to believe she is just a HS sophomore. Class of 2022!! In this game she had 23 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.

From Professor Phil

Eight of the (current) top 10 teams have one or two losses.

UConn has been blessed over recent years to have so few losses that examining the quality of losses (losses? We don't need no steeenkin losses!) isn't something we do very often.

UConn - #6 Baylor
Oregon - #7 Louisville and unranked ASU
Oregon State - none
South Carolina - #12 Indiana
Stanford - unranked Texas
Baylor - #4 South Carolina
Louisville - unranked Ohio State
UCLA - none
NC State - unranked North Carolina
TAMU - #11 Florida State and unranked LSU

I'd say that Baylor looks the best on this metric (ignoring the undefeated, of course), with UConn a close second.

By David in Naples!!!!

It would hard to find any criticism of Christyn Williams in today’s victory over Houston. In her 31 minutes, Squeaks shot 70% from the field, including 2-2 from three-point range. She had a team high 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Her 21 points included 5-6 from the charity stripe and she swiped 3 steals. The only blemish was a single turnover.

This effort follows a great outing in the loss to Baylor just 2 days ago. Williams scored a team high 21 points and led the Huskies w/ 9 rebounds. She played every minute against Baylor.

Squeaks is only a sophomore. She has started every game at UConn and improves every week. She is a blue collar, lunch pail carrying player for every game. The best is still ahead.

Go Huskies..!!
