Well, we did the first leg of our trip. We drove from home to Emporia, Virginia in around 9 1/2 hours with stops and one really bad stretch of traffic due to a disabled vehicle.
Checked in and went to a Mexican restaurant for a great dinner. Now it's time for some blogging and a good nights sleep. I'm pooped!!!
On to Hilton Head Island to visit a HS friend. A shorter trip of 6 hours.

I don't think I have ever seen a week like this in WCBB. I mean EVER. I'm sure someone out there has all the info, but when was the last time the Top 3 teams in the AP Top 25 poll lost in the same week.
Thursday night, No. 1 UConn lost to No. 6 Baylor
Friday night, No. 2 Oregon lost to unranked Arizona State
Sunday, No. 3 Oregon State lost to unranked Arizona State
Insane.
So how does this effect the rankings that will come out on Monday? Dramatically!
For sure, Arizona State will now be ranked. I don't know where, but at 13-4 with wins over No. 2 and No. 3 they will be on the list. Maybe No. 20??
No. 18 Arizona lost to both Oregon teams in the other games between these four teams this weekend. But not by much in either game. I would bet they drop 5-7 places.
Ok, the Top 6 teams? It should be interesting to see how the voters see these results.
Coming into tomorrow, the top 6 were -
No. 1 UConn
No. 2 Oregon
No. 3 Oregon State
No. 4 South Carolina
No. 5 Stanford
No. 6 Baylor
I suppose you have to drop the top 3 teams as they all lost.
Looks to me that South Carolina should move into the No. 1 spot. They did beat Baylor, even though the Bears were without Cox.
Baylor then has to be No. 2 right behind South Carolina.
Here is where it gets tricky. Do you move Stanford into No. 3? Personally, I don't think so. I put UConn there. They did lose to a Top 6 teams unlike Oregon and Oregon State.
So, UConn at three, Stanford at four.
My guess at the new Top 6?
No. 1 South Carolina
No. 2 Baylor
No. 3 UConn
No. 4 Stanford
No. 5 Oregon
No. 6 Oregon State
It's funny how this season has gone. Oregon was the clear favorite but lost early to Louisville. They still had a chance to move to No. 1 but lost. Oregon State could have been the clear No. 1 but also lost.
South Carolina beat Baylor, but Baylor beat UConn. Now UConn will play both South Carolina and Oregon.
And No. 4 Stanford has yet to play Oregon or Oregon State.
It's really what fans have been clamoring for. Great competition and unknown results. It's so much fun!

Oregon bounced back Sunday after losing to Arizona State by beating Arizona 71-64 using a 17-6 second quarter to create a lead they would never lose. Sabrina Ionescu had her 22nd triple double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to extend her NCAA record. Ruthy Hebard had a nice double double with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
I'm not sure how Arizona State beat Oregon State in this one. The Sun Devils only scored 55 points, shot 37% from the field and 2-11 on threes and were outrebounded by 10. It helped that the Beavers shot 31% from the field and 2-21 on threes and had 15 turnovers. The rebounding machine Pivec had another double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Oregon State.
In one more upset, No. 12 Indiana lost to unranked Iowa in TWO overtimes 91-85. This was their first Big Ten loss and now they are tied with Iowa and Rutgers for the top of the conference standings at 4-1.

The player bashing and coach second guessing after the Baylor loss is almost beyond belief. Then again, it is all too typical of some UConn “ fans.” Some people need to get perspective and/or stop calling themselves “fans.”
Geno warned early in the season that this year’s team wouls be a bit of a project. The two main reasons are the graduation of Lou & Pheesa and no returning All Americans. Add in the injury to Camara and Evina’s ineligibility. The Huskies start 1 senior, 1 junior, 2 sophomores and either a freshman ( Anna) or a 2nd senior (Kyla) who has never been a regular. If Kyla starts, the next 2 players off the bench are both freshman. The team is YOUNG..!!!
Young teams have turnovers (197 so far), commit fouls (153) and miss shots (471 vs 433 made). BUT, young players with talent get BETTER..!! Megan is much better and averaging 21 pts every game. Christyn has raised her average to 17 points per game. Anna has made 43% of her last 39 threes. Does anyone honestly believe Olivia will not be better in March/April? In 14 games, she has 169 points, 58 blocks and 126 rebounds..!! The difference between this year and last is HUGE..!! She had a bad game against the best “big” in college. A top 3 draft choice for the WNBA.
The Baylor game gave Geno everything he needed to make this team better. He doesn’t have to tell them where to improve. He can now SHOW them on film. And he will...!
Go Huskies..!!
