I can't even begin to tell you how said I am about Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi. I'm sure you all know about his and his daughter's tragic death in a helicopter.

I really struggled with even writing this blog. Kobe was such a big supporter for women's basketball and as I'm sure you all have heard a few times, Gigi wanted to play for UConn and I'm sure that she would have fulfilled that dream.

It's been a tough few months in my life with friends and relatives dealing with health issues. It makes one look at their mortality in a different light. I don't want to dwell on this as my blog is something I hope takes everyone away from their troubles. I'll leave you with these words -

"We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will."

I'm sure Kobe has done that.

When I'm feeling blue, I just think of something green. Like Notre Dame and the horrible season they are having.

In a close to UGGY award effort, the Irish lost to Virginia 90-60. They shot 32% from the field, 5-21 on threes and 21 turnovers.

Now 7-13 on the season, the Irish take on No. 5 Louisville in their next game. Mark that down as a big loss. With Georgia Tech and Wake Forest on the horizon, Pittsburgh in the next chance that Notre Dame has a game they can win.

I guess we, in the message board world, won't be hearing much from the Oregon State fans.

The Beavers lost their weekend series 2-0 to in state rival Oregon, losing 76-64 on Friday and
66-57 on Sunday.

After starting the season 15-0, Oregon State had a chance to jump into the number 1 spot in the polls. That dream was dashed after losing to then unranked Arizona State. They bounced back with a big win over California, but now have lost three in a row and four of five games to drop to 16-4 and 4-4 in the PAC12 conference.

I'm not sure how far they will drop in the polls Monday. Certainly out of the top ten.

Maybe UConn has a chance? Stewart has no hands!!!

UConn plays Team USA in an exhibition game on Monday. It will be fun to watch, but I'm not sure I will. I don't like the idea of this game in the middle of the season. And getting their butts handed to them does nothing for the UConn team.

I'll post game articles in tomorrow's blog. Probably not much more than that.
